Our goal for this project was to protect the precious water source of Sweeten Creek while creating a one-of-a-kind outdoor place where clients could enjoy the natural surroundings and discuss inspirations and ideas. The project involved many challenges, including being located within a floodway, complicated existing utilities, a railroad easement, and many NCDOT constraints. We worked diligently through it all and we were able to successfully attain permitting approvals from the City of Asheville, NCDEQ Floodway Permitting, and the NCDOT. The bridge, dog area, flat green space, and putting green help create a distinct atmosphere while visiting the site and is perfect for outdoor gatherings and events.
